About US

 This website is dedicated to addressing environmental issues from an American (that is United States), point of  view rather than a Eurocentric/Socialist point of view.

The United States is not the source of all environmental problems, but is the solution.

We advocate:

* Sound Science

* Common Sense Environmentalism

* Capitalism and Market-Based Solutions

* Solutions that actually work and address the problem

* Environmental, and Health & Safety Policies that do not work contrary to the National Interest.

The American Environmentalist is a website made up of a group of like-minded people in the Environmental Movement for over the last 30 years, who hold to the conservative values of our founding fathers.  We are available for public appearances and speaking engagements, contact Jim Poesl at the Feedback page.

Environmentalism

Our Editor, Jim Poesl, has been involved with the environmental movement from the first time that he saw the famous "Crying Indian Commercial", starring Iron Eyes Cody, and produced by the Keep America Beautiful Campaign, Inc. He started out as an avid hunter and fisherman with his father Walter, who instilled his love of America and the Environment in him. Sometime in the early 1980's his father encouraged him to pursue ecological/environmental protection as a career and possibly take a similar career choice as his uncle Kenneth Poesl, President of Kens Marine Service, Inc. in Bayonne. NJ.

He graduated Stockton State College (now Richard Stockton College of NJ) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Studies then started a career in Health, Safety, and Environmental Consulting soon after graduation. Jim also has a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Policy Studies and a Certificate in Environmental Management & Infrastructure from NJIT.

While Jim was in graduate school he became active in working as a volunteer in several political campaigns. He found his traditional conservative Pro-American values in conflict with the "orthodox litany" of the popular environmental movement, and his environmental values not addressed (not well addressed, at least) by the conservative movement--which should be an easy association. One of Jim's missions is to organize, develop and promote a comprehensive conservative environmental ethic to preserve civil rights, and AMERICAN (UNITED STATES) Sovereignty.

Jim viewed the September 11th, attacks at the WTC from the roof of his job, and like most of us, his life was not the same. Soon after, he worked as the assistant to the Senior Science Adviser for WNBC and WCBS in New York on the Anthrax Clean Ups. Working together they both developed interim cleanup guidelines that were used by the New York City Board of Health and the Centers for Disease Control.

Eventually his passion for National Security, Safety, and the Environment, lead him to join forces with a group of like minded thinkers to form what was to become Decisive Action, LLC. Jim serves as the Sr. Environmental Policy Analyst for the group.

American Patriotism, Pro-Capitalist

When people ask Jim Poesl why the American Environmentalist is anti-Socialist, they get a history lesson. When Jim defines socialist, he includes fascism and communism, since they are just different extremes of socialism. The dictionary definition of socialism is "a political system where the means of production are held by the government".

Jim's anti-socialist leanings started at a young age with the stories from his mother, Halina, who with her family, spent time in Soviet Concentration/Labor Camps during WWII. Most of his mother's family were killed by the Soviets at Ark Angel (Arkhangelsk), Russia. If it were not for the efforts of General Wladyslaw Anders, the Supreme Polish General--who has been compared to Oscar Schindler--very few if any Poles would have survived internment.

Jim's experience at College with the "Agenda of Academia" in general and many of the participants in the modern environmental movement should concern everyone. AmericanEnvironmentalist.com's point of view is that capitalism is the best vehicle for environmental protection. Free-market solutions in general lead to the best results, and sound science, not hysteria should set environmental policy goals.
